  • 34

This article will show you how to purchase a new domain name through your domain name reseller account.

This article assumes that you have already logged into your domain name reseller account admin area.

1. Move your mouse over the "Products" menu, and then select "Domain Registration" > "Check Availability" option.

2. Enter each domain name you'd like to register in the space provided (one domain per line), and select the desired extensions by checking the appropriate boxes. When you are happy with your selections click on the "Search for domains" button.

3.  You will then see a summary of the domains you searched for, if the domains are available for registration, select the domain and click on the "Add to cart" button.

4. You will then be presented with some additional options that you may wish to modify - registration length, ID protect, WhoIS information and so on. When you are happy with the options that have been selected, click on the "Continue" button.

5. You may then be offered more additional options, continue through the order process until you get to the cart summary screen. If the options in your cart are correct, click on the "Proceed to payment" button.

6. You are then asked to assign the new domain name/s to a customer account. You can either create a new customer for each domain you register, or you can have 1 customer and place all registered domains under that customer. It's all down to personal preference and which you find easier to manage.

If you are adding the domain to an existing customer, follow the directions in the image below using the "1a" arrows.

If you would like to add a new customer, follow the directions in the image below, using the "1b" arrows.

7. You will then be shown the payment options for the domain. There are 2 options available to you:

 - Execute requests but keep the invoice

 - Execute requests but cancel the invoice

If you are still waiting for your customer to pay you, select the first option. This will order the domain, but keep an invoice open so you know that the domain hasn't been paid for.

If you have already collected payment for the domain, select the second option. This will order the domain and add a credit note to the invoice.

8. You will then be given a summary and status report of your new order.

9. If you then go back into your domain name reseller account admin area, and select "Products" > "List Last 10 Domains" you will be able to see the new domain names. You can manage the domain name at any time by clicking on the "Click To Manage >>" link next to the domain name.
